There is variance from all manufacturers regardless of the price tag. Additionally, the nib material, ink, and paper used can effect final performance.

Below are common approximations of what you can anticipate when ordering sizes. If you need a truly accurate width, please order the next size up and request a Size Reduction with your specified millimeter measurement in the Order Comments.

JoWo tip sizes (Western convention):

Extra Fine (XF) 0.4mm

Fine (F) 0.5mm

Medium (M) 0.6mm

Broad (B) 0.8mm

Specialty tip sizes:

0.19 Needlepoint 0.19mm

Needlepoint (NP) 0.25mm

Extra Fine Cursive Italic (XFCI) 0.45mm*

Fine Cursive Italic (FCI) 0.55mm*
